Tanning Beds
The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Tanning Beds
By Linda Rogers
Most of us go through great trouble to get the healthy tanned look and even more pains to keep it for as long as we possibly can. So, come summer, we take to the beach or back yard to lay under the scorching sun for hours on end in order to get that glorious, glamorous tan look.
Get The Tan Without The Sun
The sun is the number one enemy of your skin for, along with that beautiful tan, it will also give you wrinkles and worse, serious skin diseases such as cancer. Therefore, it is recommended to wear lotion that blocks the UVA and UVB rays from the sun which are responsible for causing wrinkle and skin cancer.
But, many argue that they don’t get the tan they want if they apply the various lotions to protect themselves and therefore turn to the next best thing, staying out of the sun but still getting the gorgeous tan from a tanning bed.
The Advantages Of Tanning Beds
Tanning beds are great because they can provide you the same effects but without having to lay under the sun for hours on end; in other words, you get your tan in half the time and best of all when you want and not when it is possible.
You can have the healthy tan look year round by using tanning beds and usually the tan keeps longer in winter time as well. Tanning beds come in two types horizontal and vertical so you can choose which suits you best.
The Disadvantages Of Tanning Beds
The biggest disadvantage of tanning beds is that is inflicts the same effects that the sun does on your skin which are wrinkles and possible skin cancer as it works with the same components that are present in the rays of the sun – UVA and UVB.
The worst part about tanning beds is that you will not even use a lotion to protect yourself normally as you are going to get a tan in the first place.
Helpful Tips
Whether you use directly the sun rays or a tanning device to obtain your tan make sure that it is done in dozes that are not harmful to your skin. Protect yourself with the essential lotions to block the harmful UVA and UVB rays. The paler your skin, the more exposed you are to the harmful damages of the sun rays.
