Skin Care

Skin Care
By Linda Rogers

Skin Care is a particularly interesting subject to me. Having suffered terribly from the effects of teenage acne I learnt at an early age that regular skin care is one of the most effective strategies for enhancing the natural beauty of your complexion and can be just as important (if not more so) than the cosmetics you use. Proper skin care is essential and is the first and most important step in achieving a beautiful look.

Skin care is an important part of personal care. I would dare to say the most important as our face is often the first that anyone sees of us. Beauty is on skin deep is a common phrase and while this is true it is a sad fact that poor skin is often frowned upon by today's society. This attitude is strange when you consider the fact that Acne vulgaris affects about 90% of adolescents and 50% of adult women around the world. Even so it is my experience that people often turn away from a face covered in active acne or even deep acne scars whereas the same person is often happy to stand talking for hours with a person who has perfect skin. With this in mind I consider skin care to be an important part of our well-being.

Skin care is much more than using a good skin care product. It's not all just cleansing and keeping dirt of your face. Proper nutrition is vital to healthy skin and can also contribute considerably to maintaining younger looking skin. Surprisingly you can improve the appearance of your skin considerably by just increasing your intake of fresh water! With the constant pressure created by television and the media in general anti aging skin care is becoming more important than ever before.

Education is vital and more people are becoming away of the importance of a good skin care regime. Many are now aware of the dangers of over exposing the skin to the sun or the overuse of sun beds. However it is still surprising how few people realise that over exposure to UV light can cause premature aging of the skin and can lead to skin cancer. If you really must go out in the sun sunblock must be used.

Medical aesthetics is big business (skin care is a very highly specialized area of aesthetics). Skin care for men is a rapidly expanding sector of the market and as such more and more skin care products for men are appearing. Male skin care is no longer considered vanity and many younger males appreciate the importance of caring for their skin.

The articles below take a closer look at skin care and some of the most important areas such as natural skin care and the various treatments available. I will try to add more skin care information on a regular basis so please enjoy your visit and call back soon.
