Tripods

Camera Tripods
By Andrew Kelly

Many photographers use tripods and you may be wondering if you should do the same. While some photographers swear that the only way to shoot stills is to use a tripod others believe that they never really need to have one. Which is right? The fact is that tripods work well for some and do not work well for others. If you are just starting to shoot a new type of photograph you may want to work with tripods so that you do not have to worry about having a steady hand, instead you can focus on capturing the most beautiful photograph possible.

Whether or not you use tripods may also depend on your shutter speed on your camera. Many people have difficulties getting a crisp picture if they are working with fast or slow shutter speeds. Also, shooting at night or during the dusky times of day can make it difficult to shoot without a tripod. Every photographer is different and if you are just beginning it is a good idea to try shooting with tripods and try shooting without, soon you will know how you feel about them and when you may need to use one.

You can buy tripods at just about any shop that sells cameras. Be sure that you only buy tripods that are meant to be used with your camera as you can cause damage to your tripod or not find it all that useful if it is not a good fit. If you know what type to buy you may want to shop online to save a few bucks. Tripods are not a one size fits all purchase, so be sure that you know what type of tripod you are comfortable with and what will fit your camera before you buy.
