Wireless Home Security System

The Advantages of a Wireless Home Security System
By Arthur Sneddon

You want something that is great and extremely compatible with the 21st Century technology? Then you should go for the wireless home security system; nothing less, nothing more. Today, in spite of it being extremely sophisticated it is priced surprisingly low. What a few decades ago would have cost hundreds of thousands, today it is available for a couple of thousands. Hence, you have no reason why you should not have one installed in your home.

What is the Wireless Home Security System Made of?

The brain of the wireless home security system is the control panel. This is the place which has all the controls and which has to be out of the reach of any unauthorized person for obvious reasons. This panel will indicate which place any security breach has happened and sound an alarm – internal or external as per the setting you fed it.

Most of the time, the typical modern wireless home security system will have the capacity to send an SOS to the nearest police station when such a security breach occurs and hence, protecting the house and the insiders from any harm.

The control panel uses a keypad to enter the information into the system and to enter the code for authorized entry. This keypad is the means by which you can enable or disable the security system in your home. The keypad will be placed mostly at a convenient place outside your home where you can enter your code before gaining entry in the house. Be careful that you have the panel hidden from the general view. It should not easy for someone watching you (say through binoculars) to get your code.

The wireless home security system comes with magnetic contacts and contact sensors. These are devices which sound alarms when forced entry happens. The magnetic contacts are used at the doors and windows; when the window/ door is opened the magnetic contact will feel its field weakening and sound an alarm. Similarly, with the contact sensors; these go one step ahead and check for movement inside the house. These are most sophisticated and fool proof ways to detect unauthorized entry in the house.

A word of warning here – the movement/ contact sensors should be carefully adjusted to “read and recognize” your pet if you have one, or you will have the alarms sounding off everytime your dog or cat goes and comes for nature’s call.
