Wireless Home Security Camera

Using a Wireless Home Security Camera
By Arthur Sneddon

Many homes and almost all businesses use security cameras to watch the corners that the owners can’t. Small or large cameras can be wired to viewing monitors and/or recording devices to keep track of the security. Today, most technology is controlled by programmable computers.

That is truly the advantage of the wireless home security camera system. It is operated by a computer. The wireless signals are picked up by a control box and the integrated computer decides what to do about the signal. Those decisions are pre-determined by the person who programs the computer. Today’s user friendly computers don’t need to have someone writer a computer program every time a change is made. Easy-to-use interfaces, like control pads, mean a change can be entered with a press of a button or two.

What They can do

Each wireless home security camera is integrated into a wireless security system. Once you determine what you need your camera to do, you can connect it up. For instance, your porch wireless home security camera needs to be remote controlled so it can be activated when the doorbell rings. It can be integrated into the porch light so it doesn’t need an infrared system.

You can move the camera by remote control to see if anyone is hiding next to the door. An infrared camera next to the garage can be operated by a motion detector so that you can see whether anyone is sneaking into the garage when the door is opened. A wireless home security camera can be set up to record its images on a VCR or TiVo, transmit its images to whichever TV set you select at the time or send its images over the Internet to a web site you can set up to watch from wherever you are. And you can change that set up from day to day or hour to hour.

All you have to do is set up your wireless system or have it done for you. Then decide where you need to put your cameras. You can set up a camera to keep a steady eye on an entrance or a person or you can set up a camera for those just-in-case times so that you can turn it on remotely when needed.

A wireless home security camera can be as small as a lipstick if you want it hidden or as large as the security cameras in your local deli so potential bad guys will know that your home is protected. You can set up a camera in the family room or your child’s room for when the kids are home alone. The will feel more secure and you will be able to concentrate on what you’re supposed to be doing when you both know that you’re watching.
