There are different types of headaches. Each of these has different lengths of time where the pain is felt. There is however a headache that is suffered constantly. This headache is known as Chronic Headache.

Chronic Headache is also a form of episodic migraine. With Chronic Headaches you feel the same severe throbbing in your temple. Unlike a migraine attack Chronic Headaches last for days if not years. One of the contributing factors to Chronic Headache is that of stress.

With stress factored into the problem Chronic Headaches develop a vicious cycle of pain. This cycle can be thought of as pain followed by increased stress which is followed by an increased level of pain. Sometimes worrying about the effects of having stress can cause a Chronic Headache to occur.

The pain of living with Chronic Headaches is in itself a stress factor. As the pain can make life difficult both mentally and physically it is best to try and identify what the triggers of Chronic Headache are. Without knowing what is causing our Chronic Headaches the pain behind the headache can make us lose sight of our families, our careers. The thought of dealing with daily life can also be a major problem.

Sometimes the best way of dealing with stress and a chronic headache is to take each task one small step at a time. When our daily problems are broken into manageable sections we can keep the stress levels down. With the reduction of stress our feelings of being overwhelmed is reduced and we are no longer at risk from a headache due to stress.

The other types of chronic headaches that can develop are chronic tension headaches and chronic cluster headaches. In chronic cluster headaches the individual will experience a multiple number of headaches everyday for years. Unlike episodic Cluster Headaches there is no period of remission for the sufferers of chronic cluster headaches.

Approximately 10 to 15% of the people who suffer from Cluster Headaches will experience Chronic Cluster Headaches. People call Chronic Cluster and Cluster headaches by a variety of names. Some of these names reflect the severity of pain that an individual may suffer due to these headaches.

Chronic tension headaches are another variety of a chronic headache that people can get. With this form of headaches the sufferer will experience Chronic Tension Headaches for about 15 or more days for at least 3 months. In this headache the pain of the tension headache is continuous.

For sufferers of Chronic Headaches there is no immediate relief to be found unless they have quick acting headache medication. These medications must be selected so that they are of benefit to the individual who suffers from a Chronic Headache daily.
