Some Small Digital Cameras May Lack Quality

With the continued use of small digital cameras, there is very little left to chance and personal privacy may be taking a beating in the process. While miniature cameras have been around as long as people wanted to take pictures unnoticed, the age of small digital cameras has taken subversive photography to a whole new level.

While not each of the small digital cameras are used for undercover use, some are even being billed for that use. Pen-sized digital cameras can be found for under $20, but the photographs they produce are of questionable quality. Then there are camera phones, which are cell phones with built-in small digital cameras capable of allowing a user to take a picture and send it to another camera equipped cell phone or to a person’s email address.

There are many convenient uses for these type small digital cameras as families can instantly share happenings in one branch’s life when another can’t be present, especially if they live far apart. Additionally, one spouse can take a picture with small digital cameras of an object they may be interested in purchasing in a store and transmit it to the other spouse to get approval of the purchase.

As Size Shrinks So Does Most Quality

Most people relate size to cost and in the world of small digital cameras there is not much different. Many of the small digital cameras are inexpensive and deliver a picture of a quality that is not suitable for large prints. However, there are small digital cameras with a high pixel rating that can offer extremely good results. But, just like most things electronic, you get what you pay for.

Small digital cameras that can fit into a shirt pocket now come with pixel counts up to eight mega-pixels, allowing for extremely good quality photographs to be printed. Those small digital cameras with one to three mega-pixels capability are good for sharing pictures through email and on the internet, but only prints usually up to three by five inches can be of decent quality.

Many private investigators will use digital cameras during an investigation, but shy from the smaller ones due to the quality of finished prints. When they enter a legal proceeding, they will need the capability to present evidence in its clearest form. They may, however use small digital cameras for determining if a case should be pursued or to gather initial evidence for a client to determine if a case should continue.
