If you decide you want to meet an internet buddy, arrange to meet in a public place. That way, if he's not all he claims to be, you can just get up and leave.

Go to the movies, go to dinner, and make a study date. See if you really are compatible as a couple.

Before you do the deed, talk honestly with your partner about your sexual history and ask that he disclose his as well. Use condoms for protection against sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV.
