Industrial Coffee Machine
Industrial Coffee Machine Speeds Brewing Time
By Wendy Simons
You see them at restaurants, gas stations and some grocery stores with a snack bar, but probably never gave much thought as to why they use an industrial coffee machine instead of like the one you have at home. Since they typically only brew10 or 12 cups at a time, it is the number of pots they brew each day that requires the strength and durability of an industrial coffee machine.
Usually places that sell through coffee quickly also need to be able to replenish the supply frequently and having them with a steady supply of water and a coffee grinder as part of the industrial coffee machine or adjacent to it can make the job of making more quicker and easier.
Many of the industrial coffee machines have a switch to determine how much water to bring into the system. The barista simply adds the proper amount of grounds, sets the quantity switch, turns it on and walks away and the industrial coffee machine does the rest. Even the grinder can be loaded with beans and adjusted for the correct amount of grounds to put through the grinder before turning off automatically.
Thermal Carafes Keep Coffee Fresh And Hot
Several companies have industrial coffee machine finish into an enclosed reservoir, which helps keep it hot and block the flavor from escaping. They usually have a lever to push down to retrieve the drink with a sight glass to know when it is time to make more. Very few businesses want their customers standing around waiting for a pot of coffee to brew and with most industrial coffee machines coffee can be pulled before it has completed the brewing cycle.
Smaller industrial coffee machines, typically used in corporate lounges or break rooms, will have a means of keeping enough water for a pot of coffee hot, but does not push it through the system until more cold water is added. For example, when it is first set up it will take pouring in two pots of water before the first one goes through.
When that first pot is done, the second pot of water stays in the system, keeping hot until more water is added. This system in an industrial coffee machine can run a pot of water through the grounds in about three minutes, compared to the six or seven minutes it typically takes to brew a full pot.
