Attention Deficit Disorder Diagnosis is Very Difficult to Make

How could you diagnose a child of suffering from a disease based on characteristics that are common to a child?
This affliction attacks children who are four years and ups. If you were to see a four or five year old running about the house and screaming at the top of his lungs, watching TV restlessly and quickly getting bored of the same activity, would you find it strange? Probably not; and this is why it is harder to diagnose this condition.
How an Attention Deficit Disorder Diagnosis Is Made
From the medical point of view, it is not really hard to make the attention deficit disorder diagnosis. However, the pre-diagnosis remains a problem. Since the parents/ guardians are the closest to the child, it is better that they cultivate enough observation power to see whether the child is indeed suffering from ADD or not. This is difficult because children do not share emotions very verbally. At times the conversation between a parent and a child will not move beyond, “yeah, aha, okay, good” and some other similar monosyllables.
How can the parents find out from this whether the children are hyperactive, have low attention power or are impulsive? This is why many children go through a miserable childhood and a horrible career. Attention deficit disorder diagnosis is made with great difficulty with the help by the parents. Rather the teachers are closer to putting their finger on this problem faster than the parents could.
This is because the teacher sees the children in a structured setting and can compare him or her with his peers. Teachers can observe the way they behave in the school, during classes, while studying and understanding the subject taught and so on. When there is sufficient doubt the child can then be referred to a physician who can make the attention deficit disorder diagnosis.
The doctors use a very comprehensive checklist to make the attention deficit disorder diagnosis. You will have to cooperate to the level required because without the full cooperation it will next to impossible to make the diagnosis. Once the checklist is completed and analyzed, if the child is found suffering from ADD then the treatment is decided and immediately administered.
The faster the attention deficit disorder diagnosis is made; the better is for the child. This is because the sooner the treatment is made, it will enable the child to stretch his wings and grow as normally as possible.
