Heartburn Medication
Is Heartburn Medicine as Effective as We Would Want it to be?

Many people wonder how heartburn got its name, since heart and heartburn as diseases are not related in any way. Maybe, because of the burning sensation that the heartburn creates in the chest region, it might have been named as such. It so happens that many times angina (which is a problem of the heart) is confused with heartburn and vice versa. While confusing heartburn with angina is not life threatening the other way round is, and is hence very dangerous.
It is good if you learn to identify which is which so you can provide the required medication as and when needed. It is true that sometimes even doctors confuse one with the other as it is sometimes difficult to differentiate. One of the important identification signs are that when at heart attack occurs the person usually sweats a lot and sometimes feels pain radiating in the left hand and left region of the back.
What is Heartburn?
Heartburn is the terrible burning sensation you feel when you regurgitate acid from the stomach right back into your mouth. This happens for a number of reasons, most of which can be avoided. There are many triggers for heartburn such as eating tomatoes, citrus fruits, cabbage, fatty foods, chocolate, coffee, tea and so on. The most important thing is to identify these triggers and try to avoid them as much as you can.
In case prevention is not possible, you should have the proper heartburn medicine that can immediately bring you relief. You can get heartburn medicine over-the-counter and you get it through prescription from a doctor. Choose the second option, since sometimes the heartburn medicine available over the counter might be harmful to your type of heartburn.
For those who prefer natural cures, you have a great choice from among the natural heartburn medicines available online, or in stores. While choosing these types of heartburn medicines you should try to ascertain as much as possible whether this is indeed efficient, whether the product in within it expiry date, and whether it gives instant relief.
Be aware that even though, for many, natural heartburn medicines are preferred over their chemical counterparts, the former are not endorsed by the FDA and hence, you might end up paying a lot of money for nothing. When you buy online or from other sources, try as much as possible to ensure that what you are buying is a genuine product.
